Spring & Summer UCalgary Student Memberships
Full and part-time UCalgary student winter memberships expire annually on April 30.
UCalgary students can purchase a Spring & Summer membership at a special reduced rate: only $65 for all of May-August.
A spring membership (May-June) or summer membership (July-August) are also available for a pro-rated price.
Purchase your Spring & Summer membership from Active Living Client Services (KNA 104)
Client Services (KNA 104) lends badminton nets, basketballs, volleyballs and more. An active and valid Unicard is required to borrow equipment.
Racquets for squash, racquetball, tennis and badminton can be rented for $2.50 per day. A rental contract and an active and valid Unicard is required for members. For day pass users, a deposit of $40 cash is required.
All borrowed equipment must remain on campus.
We offer free tours of the University of Calgary Active Living facilities to show you everything you can take advantage of with you membership. Your friendly guide will get you familiar with each area and share insider tips on how to get the most of your visits. Highly recommended!

Photo, Video, and Electronic Device Guidelines
The University of Calgary, Active Living, and the Outdoor Centre are committed to ensuring all members, guests, and staff privacy and safety. We understand that sharing on social media is widespread, and we love to see our members share their successes; however, they should not do so in a way that negatively impacts the experience of others.
First-time memberships are refundable within the first two weeks, minus a $10 administration fee. After the two-week period, memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. Exceptions are made for relocation outside of Calgary, injury, accident or work-related leave. Written documentation must be provided.
Have your UCID with you at all times when accessing the facilities and services. Wristbands are required when accessing the Aquatic Centre, Bouldering Wall, Racquet Centre or Gyms; get a wristband by taking your UCID to the Active Living Client Services desk (KNA 104), the Fitness Centre desk, or the Outdoor Centre desk. Take your UCID directly to the Fitness Centre, Climbing Wall and the Olympic Oval.
- A "Family" pass includes two adults who live in the same household, and their children under 17.
- Any youth under the age of 17 (14-16 years old) must complete a mandatory youth Fitness Centre orientation with one (or more) parent/ guardian present

- Youth must be supervised at all times while using the Fitness Centre by a parent or guardian
- All the facilities are shared with University of Calgary students
- Age Restrictions:
- Aquatic Centre: During Family Swim Times parents must be within arm's length of children 7 and under. Adult Lane Swimming: swimmers must be 14 and older
- Fitness Centre: must be 17 and older
- Any youth (14-16 years old) must be supervised by a parent/ guardian at all times
- No Youth 13 and under are permitted
- Bouldering & Climbing Walls: Under 14 must be directly supervised at all times by a responsible adult, under 7 must keep their hands below the red bouldering line.
- Racquet Centre: All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Alumni, public and corporate members — get your UCID Access Card. Bring your temporary ID card and a piece of government issued ID to the Fitness Centre to have your photo taken. We will contact you when your new card is ready for pick up.
Faculty & Staff Membership Information
As a University of Calgary staff or faculty member, you will receive discounted rates on Annual Active Living Memberships (see the Membership Rates section above). Enjoy the convenience of world-class facilities right on campus!
Monthly Payroll Deduction
University of Calgary Faculty and Staff can have easy monthly payroll deductions set up for their membership. Ask us about it at 403.220.6562 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Four Payment Plan
If you prefer, we will break down your annual membership into 4 payments over the first four months of the membership.
Flexible Spending Account
Wellness Spending Account credits may be used to purchase an Active Living Membership. Eligible staff members receive an annual credit allocation for their discretionary use to help support their overall health and wellness. Employees have the choice to allocate those credits to a Non-taxable Health Spending account and/or Taxable Wellness Spending Account.

Alberta Health Services
The University of Calgary, in partnership with Alberta Health Services is pleased to offer special membership rates to:
- Alberta Health Services employees
- Staff physicians
- AHS non-staff physicians
All AHS employees and staff physicians will need to register in person and produce their AHS identification at Client Services Office (KNA 104) to receive the special membership rate.
All AHS non-staff physicians will need to register in person and produce their letter of appointment along with personal identification.
Research Park Employees
Employees with offices located in Research Park (located between 40 Ave NW to the North, 32 Ave NW to the South, 37 St. NW to the West and along 33 St NW to the East) are eligible for the Corporate Membership Rates. Employees will need to register in person and bring proof of having an office within the Research Park businesses or buildings.
