Baby and Toddler Gymnastics
Ages 6 - 24 months
Nurture your child's confidence and motor skills in our guided parented program. Led by engaging coaches, this 40-minute class introduces fundamental gymnastics movements, enhancing balance, coordination, and muscle control. With a structured yet playful approach, children explore the gymnastics environment, equipment, and skills alongside a guiding parent or trusted adult.
This 30 minute, parented class that will introduce you and your child to the environment, equipment and skills of gymnastics. Your busy kiddo will get to climb, slide, bounce, and explore during this fun-filled, structured, but open play environment. This class will encourage your child gain balance, muscle control to assist in the steady of sitting up, standing & walking. Our program will help facilitate their cognitive, sensory and social development.
Our preschool program is designed to develop and nurture confidence, listening skills, strengthen large motor skills, and develop a love for the sport of gymnastics.
The skills we present during the session will be based on the Fundamental Movement Patterns of Gymnastics (landings, springs, statics, rotations swings & locomotion).
This is a 30 minute class that will introduce you and your child to the environment, equipment and skills of gymnastics in a structured, but open play environment.
Pre-school Gymnastics
Elevate your child's love for gymnastics in our structured preschool programs. Whether parented or un-parented, our engaging setups with gymnastics equipment inspire continuous progress in strength, flexibility, and coordination. Coaches encourage confidence, independence, and patience, making each session a joyful journey towards enhanced skills and a love for sports.
This 45-minute structured parented class for 2–3-year-old children will catch the interest of your child minute after minute as they cruise through a variety of challenges using sport specific equipment. Class after class you will see continuous progress as the program will help encourage the development of independence, listening skills, patience, and perseverance. Safety landings, gymnastics skill introductions and load of fun will be the theme of the day! Age exceptions are not available in this age group and must be a minimum of 2 years old to join this class. Parents are expected to be actively engaged in supporting their child in this class
Our 45-minute structured program is specifically designed towards children 4-5 years of age. This program will improve confidence, strength, flexibility as well as increase agility, listening skills, and skill development all through a progressive approach which are found through the sport of gymnastics. Friendships, mutual respect for others, and a love of the sport are just a few things that result from this class. Age exceptions are not available in this age group and must be a minimum of 4 years of age to join this class.
The Stargazer program is the bridge from the preschool to the recreation program. The skills in this class follow the Ladder program. These skills and drills are introduced in a creative, fun, age-appropriate way. This class will last one hour and 10 minutes and will occur alongside our recreational classes.
Recreational Artistic Gymnastics
UCalgary Gymnastics' Artistic Program, includes both women's and men's apparatus: uneven bars, balance beam, floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar. Our dynamic coaching team will challenge and motivate participants at the level of their individual ability. Personalized drills and progressions will safely direct the athlete’s success. Focused on fun, fitness, and fundamentals, our program cultivates confidence and skill performance. Participants are motivated at their own level, inspiring a lifelong pursuit of gymnastics.
This program primarily focuses on Artistic Gymnastics including but not limited to: Vault, All Bars, Balance Beam, & Floor Exercise. The Shooting Stars program will work primarily within steps 1-8 of the Ladder Program, which covers safety landings on all apparatus in the program, assesses strength, flexibility of the gymnast, and teaches proper body alignment. Focus will be on providing a strong foundation on basic gymnastic skills in a fun and creative way, to which more advanced skills will follow from. Coaches will determine which step participants are on for all events by assessing the strength, flexibility, skills, and mental readiness of each individual gymnast.
Age exceptions are not available in this age group. Gymnasts registering in these classes must be a minimum of 6 years old by the first day of programming as the class structure will align with the maturation level of the child.
Register by age only. Engage your child’s mind and body at our one week, evening intensive classes this summer. Our Gymnastics Coaches design these classes to improve your child’s strength, balance, coordination, and movement skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Skill development will be aimed at each participant's level on various gymnastic apparatuses including both women's and men’s apparatus - uneven bars, balance beam, floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar. Trampolines and other equipment in the gymnastics centre will be utilized to enhance the experience. Skills will be taught utilizing creative stations and circuits designed to develop fundamental gymnastic movements in a fun and safe way. Whether your child has no experience and wants to try a new sport or is currently in gymnastics and wants to focus on specific skill development - everyone will find something to enjoy while being challenged with movement patterns and learning new skills.

The Junior Stars program will work not only in the initial beginning stages but will primarily focus on the progressive steps laid out in the Ladder Program. Coaches monitor all skill acquisition and determine the appropriate level for your child’s development by assessing their strength, flexibility, skills, and mental readiness.

This approach allows a child with any experience level to train with their own age group regardless of their ability.

This approach allows a child with any experience level to train with their own age group regardless of their ability.

The Homeschool Program is a once-a-week, skill-based, coed program that aligns with our Ladder programs. Gymnasts in this program are provided strong coaching expertise that supports learning gymnastics as a foundation sport. Children will be challenged in individual skills as well as encouraging team work. Depending on registration, groups may be combined or separated. This will be determined by the coaches at the start of the class. As this program is based on Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals within the sport of gymnastics, your child will get to build their skills regardless of what experience they previously have. Classes are scheduled once a week for an hour and 25 minutes.
Recreational Artistic Gymnastics +
Our + programs are designed for athletes aged 5-10 who want to have fun while further developing their gymnastic skills. Participation begins with a tryout or invitation, with placements determined by the head coach. Tryouts are held by appointment only. Programs run twice a week, sessionally in the fall, winter, and spring.

The Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T) coed program primarily focus on Trampoline, Tumble Track, Floor, and other specialized equipment. The T&T program will work primarily within steps 1-8 of the ladder program, which covers safety landings on all apparatus in the program, assesses the strength and flexibility of the gymnast, and teaches proper body alignment. The focus will be on providing a strong foundation on basic gymnastic skills in a fun and creative way, from which more advanced skills will follow. Parkour Gymnastics is a dynamic sport where athletes navigate a course using a blend of acrobatic moves and parkour techniques. Participants demonstrate their agility, strength, and creativity to overcome obstacles with fluid, efficient movements and spectacular stunts making it a thrilling and visually captivating experience!
Register by age only. This program primarily focuses on Parkour Gymnastics including but not limited to rolling, hopping, swinging, twisting, and balance maneuvers. Utilizing a variety of equipment within the Gymnastics Centre including Vault, Trampoline, Floor, Bars, and more. This sport emphasizes agility, strength, flexibility, and spatial awareness, challenging participants to move efficiently and creatively through various obstacles.
Register now to learn some fun skills like donkey kicks, shoulder roll, and monkey vaults!
Register by age only. This program primarily focuses on Parkour Gymnastics including but not limited to rolling, hopping, swinging, twisting, and balance maneuvers. Utilizing a variety of equipment within the Gymnastics Centre including Vault, Trampoline, Floor, Bars, and more. This sport emphasizes agility, strength, flexibility, and spatial awareness, challenging participants to move efficiently and creatively through various obstacles.

Adaptive Gymnastics
Tailored for participants with disabilities, our specialized programs introduce gymnastics in varied structures to meet unique needs. Focused on fostering confidence and enhancing physical competencies, our goal is to inspire a lifelong passion for physical activity
Only open to children with disabilities, these drop-in times are designed with low ratios, allowing children with disabilities and their grown-up/helper access to come and explore the Gymnastics Centre.
Please note, this is not a structured class. Each participant is required to provide their own 1:1 support to attend.
Participants are invited to come and discover our environment in an unstructured way. This time allows each participant the space and flexibility to use the equipment and space to aid in their learning, experiences, and development.
A member of our coaching team will be present and available to offer ideas, adaptions and access to additional equipment, supporting the participants needs and goals.
One adult is required to actively participate at all times to assist the participant during drop-in. Additional unregistered children, including those in car seats, carriers, strollers, baby-wearing devices or independent, may not be brought into the gymnastics centre during this time and can not be left unsupervised outside the gym.
Should you feel you have an unique circumstance, please contact gymnast@ucalgary.ca. Any exceptions must have written authorization prior to registration.
This program is designed to introduce children with disabilities to the sport of artistic gymnastics. Each week, gymnasts will work one-on-one with a member of our coaching staff, moving through various circuits in this semi-structured class. Coaches will adapt activities for their participant, creating an environment conducive to meeting the personal learning and developmental needs of each individual. All participants will be assisted through the session to achieving their own personal best as a gymnast.
Open only to children with disabilities ages 4+ requiring 1:1 coaching.

Open only to children ages 6+ requiring a low ratio adaptive program. Children will participate in our circuit-based preschool and recreational programs in an environment that is conducive to their learning and development. Each group will consist of a small group of coaches and athletes, allowing the space and time for coaches to make adaptations and personalized modifications to our circuits to meet each child where they are at and assist them in working towards their own personal best as a gymnast.
All participants must be able to engage independently without 1:1 support, as the class will operate in a group setting. Participants must have the ability to wait in one location with their classmates as their coach demonstrates circuits.
