From pre-school to experienced, and ages 2- 80+, our gymnastics program truly has something for everyone. We offer a variety of circuit-based gymnastics programs for pre-school and recreational participants ages 2+.

The University of Calgary Gymnastics Centre Main Campus location can be found in the basement of the Kinesiology B complex.

All our kids and youth programs come with free parking included during the time of the sessions.

Preschool Gymnastics - Calgary

Our Calgary-based preschool program is written specifically for our facility. We teach the Dominant Movement Patterns of gymnastics (landings, rotations, springs, statics and swings) through the use of circuits. We base our circuits upon research into how children’s minds and bodies develop. Through the sport of gymnastics, participants will develop the skills and confidence to succeed in a variety of areas outside the gym walls.

NO Cell phone use or photo taking is permitted within the Gymnastics Centre during class time.

If registering in the parented program, one adult is required to actively assist the child during class time. Additional adults and unregistered children, including younger siblings and infants, are not permitted inside the gym during class time.


Gymnatots | Ages 2-3

Gymnatots is the first step in the preschool program. Designed to lay a strong foundation in basic gymnastics, Gymnatots is beneficial for any future sports your child may participate in.

Parented Class
Children must be turning 2 years of age within the first 4 weeks of the program. If you want to register twins or triplets with a single adult, please contact 403.220.7010.

Prerequisite: No experience required, Ages 2-3

Supertots | Ages 3+

This parented program is the next step up from our Gymnatot program. In the Supertot class, the children are now ready to focus on the combining of basic skills and development of their self-confidence and independence on the equipment.

UNPARENTED CLASSES | Please note: Children in Grade 1+ are not eligible for our preschool programs. Please register in the Recreational program.

Kindergym | Ages 4-6

Kindergym is the first step in the unparented preschool program. Designed to lay a strong foundation in basic gymnastics, Kindergym is beneficial for any future sports your child may participate in.

Unparented Class

Prerequisite: No experience required

Children must be turning 4 years of age within the first 4 weeks of the program or receive coach recommendation to register.

Kindercracker | Ages 4-6

Kindercracker is the next level up from Kindergym. This level encourages children to become more independent and to attempt and perform skills with minimal assistance from the coach.

Unparented Class

Prerequisite: Entry is by coach's recommendation only.

Firecracker | Ages 4-6

Firecracker is the next level up from Kindercracker. The child will continue to be challenged with more complex skills as well as learning how to practice independently. This program is for children with previous Kindercracker experience.

Supercracker | Ages 4-6

Supercracker is the next step up from Firecracker. Participants will build upon the complexity of skills they have gained from the Firecracker program.

Recreational Gymnastics - Calgary | Grades 1-12

Our Calgary based recreational program is written specifically for our facility. We teach the Dominant Movement Patterns of gymnastics (landings, rotations, springs, statics and swings) through the use of circuits. Our recreational program is appropriate for individuals of all ages and abilities.

Classes are divided into Beginner, Experienced and Advanced levels. Each level is further divided based upon on school grade, allowing children to participate in programs with their peers. Grades 1-6 are co-ed. Grades 7+ have primarily female participants.

Example: New to gymnastics + Grade 2 in school = Grade 2 Beginner

*Classes may be combined with similar skill levels/age groups, dependent on registration numbers.


Recreation Beginner | Grades 1-6

Expanded from our Preschool program, the Recreational program focuses on skill progressions and active movement. Developing a base in gymnastics will provide participants with a foundation to pursue a variety of other sports and activities outside the gym walls.

Prerequisite: No recreational experience required, this includes participants entering from a preschool program.

Participants who have completed previous recreational classes and need to gain additional confidence on equipment and in foundational skills.

Register for Recreation Beginner | Grades 1-6

Recreation Experienced | Grades 1-6

Recreational Experiences is our next level up from Beginner. This level encourages participants to become more independent and to attempt and perform skills with minimal assistance from the coach. Participants will continue to gain confidence on all equipment and build upon their fundamental skills through repetition across various circuits.

Prerequisite: Entry is by coach's recommendation only.

Participants who have completed previous recreational classes and need to gain additional confidence, independence and skills.

Register for Recreation Experienced | Grades 1-6

Recreation Advanced | Grades 1-6

Recreational Advanced is our next level up from Experienced. Participants will continue to be challenged with more complex skills as well as learning how to practice independently. Through circuits and drills, participants will continue to gain independence on all equipment and build upon their fundamental skills through repetition. Skill progression will be based upon their coach’s assessment of the individual’s abilities and readiness.

This level is further split into A (1hr) and B (1.5hr) programming. B programming is only offered during select sessions.

Continuing Recreation | Grades 7-12

Our Continuing rec programming follows our Grade 1-6 lesson progressions. Lesson plans are modified by coaches to challenge each individual. Classes combine participants from a variety of levels, allowing gymnasts to work within their peer group.

Classes may be divided during training time to focus on specific ability-based skills.

Programs range from 1 – 1 ½ hours during select sessions.

Prerequisite: No experience required.  Must be in Grade 7-12 at beginning of the program to register.

Please note – Continuing Rec programs have primarily female participants.

Adaptive Gymnastics - Calgary | Ages 4+


Adaptive Gymnastics | Ages 4+

Open only to children with a disability requiring 1:1 coaching, this program is designed to introduce children with a disability to the sport of artistic gymnastics. Children will participate in our circuit-based preschool and recreational programs in an environment that is conducive to their learning and development. Our coaches will make adaptations and personalized modifications to our circuits to meet each child where they are at and assist them in working towards their own personal best as a gymnast.

A coach will be provided for each child; all parents/aids are asked to remain in the hallway during class.  If special circumstances are required, please contact the program coordinator at 403-220-7010.
