Important changes

Our summer camps will be adhering to the Guidance for Day Camps as outlined by the Government of Alberta. We have restructured camps to accommodate physical distancing protocols, which unfortunately means fewer programs and participants.

Due to these substantial changes required for camps, all previous offerings were cancelled and new camp offerings were made available.

Steps for first-time registrants

Create your parent profile

To register a child in a summer camp, you must first create a profile for the parent or guardian who will grant permission to attend.

Create a new profile

Add your kid(s) to the parent profile

You will be able to register multiple children for camps under the same parent profile.

Sign the waiver ahead of time

All participants will need a new COVID-19 waiver signed by a parent or guardian before attending camp.

Register online

Your best bet to secure the camp of your choice is to register online.

Credit for cancelled camps

The funds from your previous registration(s) have already been credited to your UCalgary account. Should you decide not to use the credit for a new 2020 camp, the credit will remain on your account for 24 months to be applied to future programs.

If you would prefer a refund, email active@ucalgary.ca with your name, the participant's name, UCID number, and preferred phone number to contact you. For your protection, credit card numbers are not kept on file, therefore we are unable to automatically process refunds.

We appreciate your patience as we work through the refund process. With thousands of camps registrants, this is a daunting task for our staff.

Frequent Asked Questions - Revamped Camps 2020

Why is the camp I registered for now cancelled?

With the release of the province’s Guidance for Day Camps, we had to make significant changes to our programs. This includes limiting groups to 10 people (including staff), and reducing the overall number of camp offerings. The changes also include updating parent and guardian responsibilities, such as the requirement to check your child’s temperature each day prior to attending camp. As the changes were too numerous to simply adjust the existing camps, we made the decision to cancel all camps and re-launch registration.
