Program Design (Foothills Campus)
This add on includes the addition of a 4-week program design and an additional 30 minutes with one of our trainers.

This add on upgrades your consult to 3 personal training sessions. These sessions can take place in any of the fitness centres located at the Main Campus, Foothills Campus or Spyhill Campus.

Location
The CTEP Lab and Foothills Campus - Main Fitness Centre are located on the first floor of the CWPH building. Once inside the building take the elevator up one floor to the first floor, walk towards the windows and head left down the hallway!

Meet Our Personal Trainers!
Emmanuel Olapade
Bkin, AKA certified kinesiologist
Emmanuel Graduated from Kinesiology with a focus on exercise and health physiology. He participated in research projects such as WE-Track, which focused on wearable technology and training, and athletic concussion research with the SHRED program. He has worked with many Elite trainers and coaches as he competed as a varsity and Team Canada and Olympic-level wrestler. Emmanuel has also been a wrestling coach for more than 5 years with an NCCP wrestling coach license.
Emmanuel is passionate about working with adaptive rehabilitation. With his Alberta Kinesiology Association (AKA) membership, he has volunteered and worked as an instructor with the Rehab and Fitness Program. He also instructs Healthy-U classes. Emmanuel is studying to increase his credentials and will soon be a Certified CSEP-CEP member.
Emmanuel believes that understanding one's body holistically, from functional movement to proper rehabilitation and nutrition, is essential for everyone, especially when performing regular daily tasks.
Emmanuel spends his spare time having fun with his friends, playing different sports like soccer and pickleball while wrestling with the dinos team. He also enjoys playing his violin from time to time and musical jam sessions with his friends.
Simran Panesar
BSc (Honours), MSc, MD candidate
Simran has a strong interest in taking a preventive, holistic, and multisectoral approach for health and wellness. She is currently a medical student at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. Prior to starting medical school, she earned her BSc in Honours Physiology and MSc in Medicine at the University of Alberta. She is passionate about treating movement as "medicine", and working with clients to build strength, mobility, and stamina, which will support them in living their lives to the fullest for decades to come. Simran has been a competitive Punjabi folk dancer for 10+ years and has performed nationally. She has choreographed dance segments for various teams. Through her career as a competitive dancer and choreographer, she has built skills in teaching movement while prioritizing safe form and execution, which are core values she brings as a personal trainer with Foothills Campus Fitness Centres.
Beyond dance, Simran is passionate about promoting life-long health, and has research experience in older women's health. For her MSc, she investigated the role of culture in shaping the perspectives of older Sikh women regarding urinary incontinence. She conducted her qualitative study through a community based participatory research (CBPR) approach, which focuses on co-creation with knowledge end-users. Simran brings a similar approach to Foothills Campus Fitness Centres, through her aim of co-designing personalized workout plans with clients, which account for their goals, schedule, range of motion, and ultimately, honour their story and relationship with physical activity. Simran continues to work towards additional certifications and actively seeks feedback from her clients, as to continually improve as a personal trainer and cultivate an empowering experience for all her clients.
Simran's hobbies include writing poetry and long distance running with a great playlist! She shares her poetry through open-mic festivals and social media. Additionally, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, trying out new coffee shops, and movies with adventurous plots.
